Fundraising @ the Commons Theatre
The Commons Theatre exists to provide opportunities in the Performing Arts for youth and adults in Madison County through education, events, and performances. We recently held a fundraising event for new seating, so that we could retire our well-loved, 10-year old chairs. We had an amazing turnout and were able to purchase our new chairs and get them installed just in time for our 2023 Christmas performances.
We have many needs at the theatre, and the next goal we are setting our sights on is obtaining a curtain for our stage. A new, professionally designed curtain would significantly enhance the overall visual appeal of our performances and would create a dynamic and captivating backdrop for our actors. As a non-profit community theatre, our mission is to provide affordable, high-quality theatre experiences to our community members. A new curtain would directly support this mission by improving the quality of our productions. Investing in a new curtain is not a short-term solution but a long-term investment in our theatre. With proper maintenance and care, a new curtain can provide a visually stunning backdrop for numerous performances over many years, benefiting countless actors, crew members, and audience members.
While we do not know the exact cost of the curtain, rigging, and frame construction, we've received an initial rough estimate of just over $5,000 for the curtain alone. We are beginning our fundraising here on this page and accepting donations through Square, or call us at 765-639-3282 to donate in person for cash or checks or if you are interested in donating a different amount than what is listed below.
